AEGIS Cantarelli + Partners acted as design engineers for A2A in the construction of the new Unareti Training Centre in Brescia
AEGIS Cantarelli + Partners, a YARD REAAS Group company, has worked alongside A2A as the engineering firm responsible for integrated design (architecture, structures, systems), construction management and safety in the construction of its new Training Centre in Brescia, located in the San Bartolomeo district. The project involved the construction of the main building and outdoor areas dedicated to the practice field.
The facility in Via Grazzine, located on land owned by Unareti, a company belonging to the A2A Group, will be the beating heart of the Group's Technical Academy: a modern training centre dedicated to the education and training of new operators, as well as the refresher training of experienced operators, in the management and maintenance of the networks that bring essential services – electricity, water and heat – to cities.
Thanks to an integrated learning system that combines classroom lessons, practical training, on-the-job training and digital simulations with immersive tools and virtual reality, technicians will have the opportunity to simulate interventions and manoeuvres in complete safety on electrical networks, systems or confined spaces.
With a total area of 3,800 square metres, including 2,200 square metres of outdoor space equipped for operational exercises and a two-storey building with classrooms and laboratories, the new Training Centre is an example of urban regeneration: on the site that once housed methane storage, there is now a modern and sustainable structure that gives the neighbourhood a regenerated space, designed for personal growth and infrastructure safety.
The project included the demolition of existing structures as well as environmental remediation and the reconstruction of modern and safe spaces for training.
