
YARD REAAS technical advisor to the Value Add SH Fund managed by Savills IM SGR on behalf of Barings in the acquisition of an area for the development of a student housing in Rome
The Value Add SH fund managed by Savills IM Sgr, on behalf of Barings, a global investment company, took over a 25,000 square metre area in Rome's Tiburtino district. The seller is SHQT - Sviluppo HQ Tiburtina, a BNL-BNP Paribas Group company.
The project envisages the transformation of a disused industrial area into a modern student residence (building permits have already been obtained) of approximately 7,000 square metres and more than 300 beds, surrounded by green areas, car parks and sports facilities.
The operation confirms the growing interest of international investors in the Living segment, with particular reference to the PBSA (Purpose Built Student Accommodation), which in 2023 registered investments of over 240 million euro.
The new complex will be located in the Tiburtino district, a position that allows it to intercept both the catchment area of LUISS Guido Carli University and that of La Sapienza University, which, with over 100,000 enrolled students (more than 35% of whom off-site), is the largest university in Italy.
In the transaction, YARD REAAS performed the technical and environmental Due Diligence preparatory to the acquisition of the area.
