Claudio Cont, Head of ESG & Sustainability of the YARD REAAS Group, was among the speakers at the workshop ‘Gli stati generali dell'ESG in Italia’, held by Il Quotidiano Immobiliare on Thursday 27 March at its headquarters in Trescore Balneario (BG).

During the meeting, which represented an important opportunity to discuss the role of sustainability in the real estate sector, he spoke at the round table ‘ESG: a look towards 2030’, offering an in-depth analysis of the current state of real estate in Italy and Europe less than four years before the first deadline set by the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for the achievement of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the improvement of the global system.

Claudio analysed the effects of the ‘Omnibus’ manoeuvre on the sector, focusing in particular on recent developments in ESG regulation in Europe and the possible implications for the real estate market and corporate strategies. Although there are regulatory updates that could change the path towards decarbonisation, sustainability continues to be a strategic element for the sector's competitiveness, especially at the European level.
